What to Bring for a Camping Pod or Yurt Holiday

Canvas Yurts, Timber Yurts and Camping Pods - you will need to bring everything you would need for a camping holiday - except for the tent.

You will need to bring beds and bedding for the Camping Pods, Canvas Yurts and small Timber Yurts.

Mid-sized and large timber Yurts have 2 pairs of bunk beds, that is 4 bed spaces with mattresses in total. There is space for an additional double bed in the Mid-sized Timber Yurt, and space for 2 double beds in the Large Timber Yurt

Canvas Yurts & the Large Timber Yurt are provided with an initial supply of timber, timber is also available to purchase from the shop. If you bring timber with you, it should be seasoned (that is less than 20% moisture content) and free from paint, plastic etc that will create toxic emissions and be a health hazard.

Please bring torches and walking shoes as both the surrounding towns and villages and Rivendale have little or no street lighting so you can enjoy the night sky, and the site can be icy being over 1100 feet above sea level.

Location of Peak District Camping Pods and Yurts at Rivendale

The Camping Pods and Yurts may be located on the hillside terraces with views over the surrounding National Park or be located within the main pitching area.

Scandinavian Hot Tub

We offer traditional Scandinavian Hot Tubs accommodating up to six people each. These are available for hire by the day and are a great way to reconnect with nature and ease aching muscles after a long walk or bike ride. Re-connecting with nature means relaxing in a wooden tub full of hot water enjoying the view over Eaton Dale during the day – or better still under a star-lit night sky made all the better for the absence of light pollution – listening to the sounds of a hunting Tawny Owl. Or maybe it's the kids having fun - children 4 years and above may enjoy using the hot tub – always supervised by an adult.
